Are Enchanted Forests Real Inspires Connection and Bravery for Early Readers

CINCINNATI (September 16, 2024)—Little Bird Press released Are Enchanted Forests Real?, a storybook written for early readers ages two to seven years old. Imagined by new author Jenna Schroeder, the bedtime storybook was developed to foster parent/child connection with captivating imagery and positive themes of imagination, bravery and togetherness.

“This story is calming, peaceful, and gently guides conversation about sharing your worries, being brave, and how wonderful it is to spend time together,” said Schroeder, a mother of four and career storyteller. “So often we fly through life and forget to take time to reflect, to feel our feelings and to enjoy the simple things around us,” Schroder continued. “If we can teach children that it’s okay to have feelings, that being together helps to cope with those feelings and that there is beauty all around us, we can empower healthy and positive mindsets and help to dissipate anxiety in young ones.”

Pages of whimsical illustrations by Brian Warren transport readers into nature with wildlife and vibrant colors to complement the heartwarming messages. Verses are easy and fun to read, while introducing age-appropriate vocabulary. For example,

“So if you feel sunk, twist up your trunk

And march your feet with me!

Side by side, we share with pride

To set our worries free!”

Schroeder’s story draws from decades of storytelling as a stage actress, humanitarian worker, blogger and mom. “I find lessons are the most powerful, the most fun and the most inspiring when you can weave the message into a story as an immersive experience. I want Are Enchanted Forests Real to provide a positive, calm and heartfelt experience for little readers and the ones who love them so.”

The book is available online at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Retailers may order from Ingram.

Quote from the author “I wrote this story during the pandemic, while my children were navigating school online. I couldn’t help but wonder what they and other young children might be missing out on - like using their imaginations with others at preschool and library story hour. That’s when I decided to put pen to paper to address that longing to experience our beautiful world together again.”
